What are the Student Choice Awards?
These awards are to recognise quality lecturers, school support staff and non-teaching staff who have been the best at what they do and even gone the extra mile to enhance your student experience.
Good teachers and support staff play a vital role in student success at Cranfield University and beyond. Nominating someone for a SCA is a chance to recognise and thank the people who have had the greatest positive impact on your student experience.
It’s your opportunity to give them the recognition they deserve.
The CSA SCA nominations are now open. Download either the Research Students or Taught CourseTaught Course SCA form or follow this link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SCA2018-19 to make your nominations online.
You can nominate your best lecturer or research supervisor.
In addition, you can nominate up to three staff members for the Excellence Awards. These individuals may be anyone you would like to thank, who have significantly enhanced your time at Cranfield, from anywhere in the campus: academic, support, technical, service, leisure or any other category important to you.
For each nomination you are asked to tell the judging committee why you are nominating a particular person for an award. These comments will be crucial when it comes to short listing and deciding on a winner, so please take the time to give your reasons.
Nominations are open until 12th April.
The Cranfield nominees and winners will be announced at the SCA awards event on Thursday 16th May, 1pm in Stafford Cripps, SC2. All students and staff are invited so come along and cheer on your nominees.
The judging committees will comprise of the CSA President, Campus Vice President, General Manager, a senior staff nominee from each school and the respective school representatives. Selection of award winners will be based upon a combination of the number of students in the teaching cohort, the number of nominations and the quality of the written comments from students. Negative or abusive comments will not be considered.
All nominations will be in confidence, and anonymous if the student so wishes. Data and comments will only be viewed by the selection committees and project administrator, although comments may be collated into a citation for winning staff. Data on individual members of staff will not be passed on to departments or managers, and all data will be destroyed after the awards have been presented.
