The Chinese Society’s main objective is to serve people who are interested in Chinese tradition and culture at Cranfield University and the society has had an annual membership of over 100 for the past few years. The society organises activities throughout the year; these include traditional Chinese Festivals, such as celebration of the Chinese New Year and western events like Christmas and the New Year. In recent years, our day-trip events have been extremely popular to students and we have visited Warwick Castle, Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Blenheim Palace, and etc. We also organize Crantalk forum regularly where students and scholars are able to share their research and work experiences. The society also takes part in major events organized by other clubs and committees both on campus, in Bedfordshire and in Buckinghamshire. These include the International Day and the Bedford River Festival, for example.

A committee of volunteers who are usually elected in an October meeting every year run the society. The society is open to all students and staff in the university, new and old.
